The problem
The company was running Odoo v8 — years behind, unsupported, and increasingly difficult to extend. The system runs the business day to day, so a migration could not mean downtime, and five major versions of schema and API change stood between where they were and where they needed to be.
The outcome
The business moved to Odoo v13 with its data and customisations intact, back on a supported release and able to take updates again.
